Sweden 2012: Arrival in Sweden

Arrival in Sweden went fine. I was able to find my luggage and Anneli without problem.

We stopped at McDonalds for a quick meal. The inside has a microwave in case you want to warm your food up.

The hottest Swede ever works here and I will forever regret not getting a picture of him.

We went to Anneli's family's summer home where I met her parents. Sadly, I forgot my camera. Anneli said we would probably go back there though. At one point during the visit, Anneli's mother picked up a bowl of blueberries and asked me something in Swedish. I assumed she was offering me some blueberries and I said no thank you. Anneli told me she asked if I was tired.

In the grocery stores, there are no baggers. Once the customer is done shopping, the cashier rings up his or her groceries. The customer grabs a bag from underneath the conveyer belt and bags his or her order at the end of the register. Registers have dividers so that cashiers can start the next order.

I found out that in Sweden, the restaurant cooks the pizza and then you take it home and cut it yourself.

Sweden 2012: Flight to Sweden

The flight to Sweden wasn't that eventful. It was a bit more comfortable than the previous flight. I didn't have a flight-mate on this one either. They offered us a drink and snack (I kept the can afterwards). And my view outside was once again compromised by the wing of the plane and the sun's brightness.

In-flight snack - diet coke, ham sandwich, and a raisin bun.

Sweden 2012: Amsterdam

I wasn't quite able to do as much as I hoped in Amsterdam. By the time I was finally cleared by customs and made it to the gate I needed to be at, I had less than ten minutes left. Hopefully, I'll have a bit more roaming around time when I return.

Sweden 2012: Flight to Amsterdam

The flight to Amsterdam went fine. I didn't have a flight-mate. I was disappointed yet relieved about that. A man sitting diagonal from me kept looking over at me every now and again. He was rather hot. The stewardesses and flight attendents were quite nice.

I basically listened to music & podcasts on my iTouch and journaled the whole time.

Early in-flight snack - water, mini pretzels, and lightly salted peanuts.

Our choice of dinner was cold chicken, pasta, or a chicken sandwich, I believe. I chose the pasta. It came with a salad, a small thing of dressing, a roll & butter, a small block of cheese, a packet of salt and pepper, a small packet of crackers, and a cinammon brownie for dessert. I also got a cup of diet coke. Ate the pasta, salad, roll, and brownie. Saved the crackers and condiments. Returned the block of cheese.

Tried fooling around with the entertainment system a little. I wanted to know the status of the flight. It showed me an image of a plane over Africa and told me the time left until we arrived was 00:00.

Sunset and sunrise were very pretty sights to see. It was hard to get good pictures of though due to the sun's brightness and the fact that half of my view was blocked by the wing of the plane.

We got another in-flight snack a couple hours later. It consisted of a banana, blueberry muffin, and Minute Maid orange juice. I ate the muffin although I took out the blueberries. The rest I gave back.

We finally reached Amsterdam. It looked beautiful from above. It was a bit foggy though. Trying to get a good picture was quite difficult,
